HEAD CHEF


The DETAILS

We are looking for a Head Chef who can manage our kitchen autonomously, create and innovate menu items, train and inspire our staff, and cater to large functions and events. With a seating capacity of up to 150 people, we are a bustling, fast-paced establishment, especially during the summer season.

This role replaces our wonderful Head Chef of 15 years, offering you job security and the chance to grow with us in a fast-paced, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Kitchen Management: Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring smooth and efficient workflow. Manage kitchen staff schedules, inventory, and supplies

  • Menu Development: Design and create new and innovative menu items that reflect current food trends and meet customer preferences. Ensure menus are updated seasonally and incorporate fresh, local ingredients

  • Event Catering: Plan and execute catering for large functions and events, ensuring high-quality service and food presentation. Customise menus to meet the specific needs of each event

  • Team Member Training: Train, mentor, and develop kitchen team members, ensuring high standards of food preparation and presentation. Foster a collaborative and positive working environment

  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food quality, taste, and presentation. Implement and monitor food safety and sanitation practices

  • Cost Management: Manage food costs and kitchen staffing budget. Ensure cost-effective purchasing and minimise waste

  • Customer Experience: Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure an exceptional dining experience for our guests. Handle customer feedback and complaints professionally

This is a full-time position with flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or Executive Chef in a high-volume, fast-paced environment

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience

  • Strong leadership and management skills

  • Creative and innovative approach to menu development

  • Experience in planning and executing catering for large functions and events

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills

  • In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
